Blagdon Midi Pond Pumps 3500 L/Hr
The Blagdon Midi range of pumps are solids handling and are designed for
using for filters, waterfalls, fountains and ponds. They are extremely
reliable and handle up to 8mm solids. Each pump runs very free without
blocking and it has a choice of some very snazzy fountain heads. It comes
with a 3 year guarantee. This model does 3500 litres per hour ( 750 galls
per hour). For ponds up to 7000 litres. The other models which you can see
below are the 4500 which does 4500 litres per hour for ponds up to 900
lires. The 5500 model ( 550 litres per hour for ponds up to 11000 litres
and the 6500 Model ( 6500 litres per hour) for ponds up to 13000 litres.
Why is it so good
These models have computer designed cases so that the large surface area
allows water to pass through them evenly with no clogging. The new shafts
and bearings are extra rugged to prevent wear. The "New" larger models
from the 3500 up can take 1/2, 3/4, or 1inch pipe.
Fully submersible
Midi 3500 pumps when running waterfalls, fountains or filter systems
should be placed fully submerged beneath the water preferably as far away
from where the water re enters the pond after it has been through the
filter.This is to prevent stagnant parts and to ensure that all the water
in the pond goes through the filter.
It is always best to have the pump slightly raised off the bottom for two
reasons. The first is so that if a pipe accidentally comes off the filter
for any reason, the ponds cannot totally be emptied. The second is that in
winter it will prevent drawing cool water from the surface and mixing it
into the lower layers where the fish are hibernating.
