 | NITRATE REDUCTOR 400
A filter for reducing the nitrate concentration in aquaria up to 400 litres. (c.100 gal) The Nitratreductor 400 is a completely sealed biological filter. It is operated at a very low flow rate so that an oxygen free environment is created wherein naturally occurring bacteria reduce nitrate to harmless nitrogen gas. The filter can be installed in almost any position, inside or outside the aquarium or the cabinet. For the water flow, we recommend the Dosing pump SP 3000. After maturing the filter can keep the nitrate concentration in a normally loaded aquarium up to 400 litres at a very low level. The filter medium - Deniballs - is consumed and will require replacement in 9 to 12 months dependant on load. For optimum control we recommend the filter be used in conjunction with an Aqua Medic mV (Redox, ORP) controller. The filter is already equipped to accept our pressurised electrode. The Nitratreductor 1000 is an anaerobic biological filter for the removal of nitrate from marine and freshwater aquariums. Its characteristics are the big volume of 10 Liters Gallons) , the internal circulation and the low flow rate of 1 - 4 l/hr ( 0,25 - 1 gph). Under these conditions, special bacteria metabolize nitrate in the absence of oxygen. As energy, they need organic food, that is added as Denimar tablets and Deniballs. A control of the process is possible using a redox potential controller (ORP controller). A connection port for the probe is included. The Nitratreductor is a closed system, whatever can be operated integrated in filtration systems or individually under the aquarium. The water inlet is realized via a bypass from a circulation pump or a canister filter.

The Nitratereductor 5.000 uses the same biological principle as the smaller Nitratereductor. It has a volume of 30 l and is supplied with an internal circulation and a connection for a redox probe (with standard thread). The feeding of the bacteria is performed manually with Denimar of automatically using Deniballs. The filter is a closed system and is supplied with water via a bypass of 12 - 30 Liter/hr ( 3 - 8 gph).

The bacteria in an anaerobic bio filter need organic nutrients as energy source to remove nitrate. Denimar contains organic substances that dissolve slowly in water and are taken up by the bacteria. If Denimar is dosed daily, high nitrate removal rates can be reached in the Nitratreductor. Denimar is suited for salt and freshwater aquariums. Contains no fertilizers and does not promote algae growth.
